What will your life be like 10 or 15 years into the future?

My life in 15 years…I`ll hope to be graduated in some specialty in medicine and having a good job, maybe working in a hospital and at the same time working for a private company, maybe in a tourism company. I`m going to live with my family in our own home in a quiet place full of nature (not in the city). I will hope to have a good health, been able to travel and seen knew places…

TOPIC: TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS
I`ll work alone. I´m going to do an introduction about the importance of customers in a company and I'll give a few words for people to define if they are right or not in the customer care.

Globalization

I think that the one that express better how is globalization is the second paragraph because transnationals doesn’t care about the country in which they operate or even about their employers, they care in the production they can develop. Also the competition between this industries and the poor countries is very difficult because the most powerful industries have the capacity to produce a lot of products in a lowest prices so many other companies may go bankrupt. For example in Limon there´s a lot of transnationals that exports bananas, they overwork the lands, make a lot of contamination and also they treat their employers as animals, the employers don´t have vacations, sometimes they don´t receive all the complete salary, they have to work very hard, sometimes they begin to work at 4 o´clock.. it sounds as a lie but is true and the most unbelievable thing is that is happening in our country.

Forms to express possession: Have or Have got.. both are correct in American and British English, but have got is the preferred form in British English while have without got is more used in American English.

American English: She's gotten much better at soccer than in basketball.

I like this proverb because is kind of positive and I think is the way we have to live our life. I understand it as if you think that this is the worst day of your life because maybe you had any problem you have to know that everything in this world have a solution except death, and that you have the capacity of give up and continue because everything  happens for a good reason and you can learn from your bad experiences.

 I don’t have an specific example cause sometimes I have problems (some of them worst than others) and  I think that I’m not going to handle any situation very well, but then I just say to my self that everything will be find.

How social networking has impacted me and my friends/ classmates/ coworkers

Nowadays the social networking has an important impact in the society.  If you ask for someone about Facebook, Hi 5 or Twitter for example maybe they would know about this websites and probably they already have their own profile. Social networking have a lot of flashy stuffs like the opportunity of socialization with your friends and meet knew people, know about the last gossip of everyone, put your personal information and photos, even you can put how is your mood in any moment or what you are doing in this moment. Also it has an easy access, you can use it by your mobile phone, and also is free!

I don´t know if the same things happens to you, but every single day I have messages in my email from Facebook and I have to log in my account to look at them just saying to me: Well it`s just for a moment and maybe is something important (and I really wanted to do my English homework in that moment) but later I spend hours and hours looking at anything like the others accounts, talking with friends, playing with the games, and I can`t avoid it!! It has become like a routine of my life.

Sometimes we are too busy to talk with somebody, so we just send a message or leave a comment in a friend`s account (maybe is her`s or hi`s birthday) to feel closer from that person.

Then I think that I spend more time chatting with my friends than seeing them face to face (of course now we can use other programs like skype that lets see the person with a camera, but that`s different!)…The social networking allows us to get closer with people but we have to analyze how we are getting closer to keep the real meaning of the human relationships.

GOOD AND BAD COMPANIES

SAS is a software and analytic company. It`s a great place to work because has the biggest private capital in the world, leader in Business Analytics, founded in USA since 1934. It has more than 11000 employees around the world.

They offer software of analytic business to provide solutions to many companies for the administration, classification and integration of their information to produce knowledge that allows the resolution of difficult problems.

Among the advantages for the employees are the benefits packages, fitness programs, health care as massages and physical therapy, medical care, summer day camps for the children and a child care center. It has low stress work environment.

It has many facilities as gyms, grounds, cafeterias, two pools, as well as soccer fields, a baseball field, racquetball courts, tennis courts and others.

For me there`s a lot of bad companies. One of those is Merck, that produce some medications with harmful effects for the health and they hide this information. For example, with VIOXX  (analgesic medication) around 55000 suffered death for cardiovascular causes. The risks were evident since 2000, but 4 years later they withdraw the medication. 

For me the perfect job is doing what already we like to do, according with our personality and personal goals. In my case I chose to study Medicine, and for me that was always my dream job.
The most important reason of why I studied medicine (and how people should choose a career) is resume in just one word: VOCATION.
One of my personal experiences is when I was 8 years olds, my family and I went to the beach and we stayed in a hotel. My little sister was 1 year old. One morning, we staying at the hotel and supposed that my cousin was taking care of my sister and they were playing somewhere but our surprise was that my sister was floating in the pool, she was blue!, I staying thinking that she was death!. My father run to the pool and took my sister out. For around 5 minutes my parents did CPR (they didn`t know very well how to do it) but finally my sister survive without sequels, it really was a miracle. In that moment I felt so bad because I really wanted to help but I couldn`t (of course I was only 8 years old), in someway I felt responsible about her. Maybe that could be the first experience in my life that branded me and makes me wanted to studied medicine. Well…but not everything is that tragic…
I live near from an old-age home and when I was in college I liked to go there with a cousin to visit the aged people and maybe bring them some gifts but the most I liked is to listen their stories and experiences.
I have my grand-mother and is incredible the experiences of life that she shares with me, and at the same time I feel useful helping her improving her health not just in a biological way but also in a mental and spiritual way.
Medicine has positive and negative aspects. Among the positive aspects is that medicine is an opportunity of been useful for somebody that needs your help, you try to do the best job you can, the importance is how grateful it could be, sometimes people search for a doctor just to talk and they leave more happy if you listen them than if you just give a medicine. Medicine is science and the art of improve and preserve the health of the community.
The negative aspects are when people study Medicine with the idea of been rich, respected, to reach a social status, in this country the problem is that there`s a lot of private universities that use this career as a business, so the country will have a lot of bad professionals, it also makes a big saturation of jobs, more legal demands … the bad distribution of doctors around the country is also a problem because nobody wants to go to rural places.
Other problem in this country (and also I think the same problem in other countries) is that people look medicine as a prestigious job and they think that could reach famous, money and respect as I said and they don`t have a real vocation.
Medicine can only be a prestige career when the doctor works for the well-being of the community.

Hello! My name is Melissa Morera González, I live in Palmares.I`m in this class because I need to practice english a lot!! For me its very important because now a day we have to speak in english with people in our jobs, with friends, it can give you better opportunities of jobs for the future, can also give you more confidence. For make a specialty it can give you a better curriculum.

I hope to learn how to speak better (more naturally) and some times I forget  basic grammar english so I need to practice more. I think that the best form you can learn english is when you enjoy it.
The most I like is when we do games, complete lyric songs, sometimes doing speaches of interesting topics,  for me is very fan and can give you better relationships with the profesor and  with your classmates. I think that is very important for me to know which problems I have in english and how can I correct them to improve my skills in english.
